Once you peel back the protecting film you can really get the full impact. It's a really clean and stylish looking screen without the knobs and buttons and to the touch feels strong and sleek. Alpine uses a 7″ capacitive touchscreen, with a near bevel-less edge and no buttons that protrude. Once we moved past the chassis depth, we honed in on the screen. In our case, we purchased a Metra dash kit that came with mounting brackets so we didn't need it. In most cases today, you'll want to purchase a dash kit from either Scosche or Metra, in which case this piece is useless anyway. One thing to note that isn't present in the box is the double-din clip in universal installation sleeve that you'd normally use to mount the head unit in a dash that doesn't require a vehicle specific dash kit.
